Insurance
Most extended health insurance companies cover Canadian osteopathic manual practitioners with the designation D.O.M.P. (Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice) from the Canadian College of Osteopathy, and/or practitioners who are members of the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual practitioners (OAO). Please check with your insurance company to see if your osteopathic practitioner is covered and to make sure osteopathy is included in your list of covered services. Sunlife and Manulife have recently stopped allowing claims for osteopathic practitioners that do not meet minimum requirements for insurance billing. Currently, the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners, of which I am a member of good standing, is not affected.
Booking Policy
Due to high demand, I require new patients to book in advance to guarantee optimal results. When booking an initial appointment, I advise adults to book FOUR follow up appointments, 2-3 weeks apart for 60 minutes. For infants and children, TWO 45-minute follow up appointments 3 weeks apart are required.
I try my best to prioritize pregnant women, infants and children based on severity. I will assess priority based on primary concern. Patients who qualify for emergency based waitlisting can expect a wait time of 2-3 weeks. My waitlist for new adult patients approx. 3-4 months.
Appointment Reminders and Changes
Email notification is used when an appointment is scheduled or changed. You do not need to reply to this email, just take note of the day/time. 48 hours prior to the appointment, I provide an email reminder and 24 hours before your appointment, if you have provided me with a cell phone number, you will automatically get a text message reminder.
Therapist Cancellations or Changes
If I need to cancel or make any changes to your appointment I will attempt to give you as much notice as possible, and will alter the schedule where possible to accommodate rebooking.
48 Hour Cancellation Policy
You are responsible for your own appointment. You have up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment to cancel. If you are suffering from the flu/cold; please cancel your appointment. If you attempt to attend your appointment with a fever, respiratory distress, vomiting, diarrhea or any other contagious symptoms you will be sent home and charged the full amount. Anything after the 48-hour notice, you will be charged the full amount.
The fee for late cancellations or missed appointments is equivalent to the cost of the full appointment that was booked.
